2011 Faculty Bios


Faculty Bios

Billie Jo Butikofer – Owner/Director, Comp Teams, Jazz

Billie Jo is the founder and director of Body Motion. She directs the jazz program at the studio as well as heading up the competitive teams. She was a four year member of the SSHS Drill Team and went on to become a member and captain of the collegiate dance team at SUU where she minored in dance. Billie Jo started BMDC during her Summers home from school. Upon graduation from college with a degree in Physical Education, Billie Jo took on BMDC full-time and was the head coach for over 10 years of the SSHS Drill Team, earning the esteemed “Coach of the Year” award in 2004. In 2008, 2010, and 2011 at the America Onstage Nationals, Billie Jo was named as one of the Top 10 Directors of the Year. Billie Jo is a loving wife and a mother of four daughters and enjoys life in the Kamas Valley.

Giselle Rasheta – Co-Director, Comp Teams, Jazz, Ballet, Ballroom, Acro

Giselle heads up the ballet and ballroom programs, as well as teaching jazz, acro, and assisting with the competitive teams. Giselle was a student at BMDC, danced for four years on the SSHS Drill Team, where she was the Drill Mistress and helped lead her team to the first ever Region Drill Team Championship for SSHS. She danced one year on the Utah Valley Dance Team and competed nationally in Las Vegas and Daytona, Florida. She danced three years on the UVU Ballroom Dance Company Tour team (two years as Latin Captain) and competed at the British Open Championships in Blackpool, England for the Standard and Latin formation teams. She has danced professionally for the Wasatch Fever dance team and the VIBE. She graduated from UVU with a degree in Ballroom Dance, and has been teaching with BMDC since 2004. Giselle strives to continue her own dance training by attending workshops and classes in and out of state. Giselle has a wonderful husband, Noah, and a sweet little boy and loves living in the beautiful Kamas Valley.


David Moon - Acro/Ballroom

• Won "Dancing With The Stars" with UVU

• 2nd in State of Utah for All-Around Gymnastics

• US Nationals Youth Smooth Champion

• 2nd US National Pre-Champ Latin Champion

David loves to dance! He was born in California and is the youngest of 8 kids. He moved to Utah when he was eight and grew up in Provo. He graduated from Utah Valley University with a Bachelors of Science in Digital Media. He was on the Ballroom Tour Team every year he was at UVU and was part of the team that competed and won on Dancing With The Stars. David tried out for Season 4 of So You Think You Can Dance and made it to Vegas. He made it to the top 40 boys! He has won National Championships in Smooth and Latin and loves to teach open choreography. He also competed with the UVU team twice in Blackpool, England and even competed individually with his partner there. David loves to have fun with dance and loves teaching to all ages!


Elise Pace – Tap/Hip Hop

Elise started dancing at the age of 3 and trained at The Winner School for about 11 years. During The Winner school years, she took workshops from all kinds of amazing choreographers such as Mia Michaels, Jackie and Joey Dowling, Madonna Grimes, and many others. After The Winner School, Elise danced in an advanced company at Elite Dance Studio until high school, where she joined Cottonwood High School’s drill team. She danced on the team all three years, and was made the team Vice President her Senior year. Her team competed in all kinds of competitions and workshops throughout the 3 years, and her Senior year they swept our Region competition and got second place in the State competition. Elise continued her dance training after high school by attending workshops during a visit to New York at the Broadway Dance Center, and at the Alvin Ailey studio.






Paige Lindsey – Jazz/Acro

Paige is a Senior at SSHS. She danced with BMDC her 8th grade year and is a 4-year member of the SSHS Drill Team (2011 Region Champions). This year she was made a Captain of the Drill Team, and in addition has taken on Cheerleading for her senior year. She has competed solos and won top honors in Drill Team and private competitions. She was named Miss Drill/Dance Utah for the 2A classification and competed for Miss Drill/Dance USA in Irvine, California. She was named to the All-American team for the America Onstage competition circuit in 2011. She has taken full advantage of her talent and had some amazing dance opportunities. She danced in the 2002 Olympics. She has attended “The PULSE” convention on multiple occasions, working with top choreographers in the dance industry such as Wade Robson, Brian Freedman, Tyce Diorio, Dave Scott, Cris Judd, Laurie Ann Gibson, Tessandra Chavez, and more. Paige also attended a SYTYCD workshop in Utah and was chosen as a Top-10 participant and was able to dance on stage with the winners. Paige has been an assistant teacher with BMDC for several years, teaching jazz and assisting with the Competitive teams.


Savannah Wheeler – Jazz/Ballet

Savannah is a Senior at SSHS. She was a 3-yr Drill Team member, is a 4-yr Volleyball player, and has participated in softball and peer leader, and she is currently a cheerleader. Savannah has been dancing since the age of 3, with training from Elite Dance Studio in Layton, BMDC, and Wasatch Dance Center. She is trained in Ballet, Jazz, Turns and Technique, Tap, and Lyrical/Contemporary. Savannah has competed many solos, and has choreographed all but one. Savannah has teaching and choreography experience and has, previous to teaching for BMDC, been responsible for the training of dancers ages 3-8. Savannah has attended many conventions where she has had the opportunity to learn choreography and technique from many famous choreographers in many different styles of dance. Savannah is as serious about school as she is about dance – she takes college classes through the EdNet program at the High School and plans to graduate this Spring with not only her High School Diploma, but her Associate’s Degree from UVU.
